Fees & Rebates

FEES

Therapy sessions at The Psychology Alley are 50 minutes in length and are conducted by experienced psychologists, including Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars / Registered Psychologists. Fees vary depending on the clinician you see and the appointment time.

Clinical Psychologist

Standard sessions before 5pm: $311
After-hours sessions from 5pm onwards: $326

Clinical Psychology Registrar / Registered Psychologist

Standard sessions before 5pm: $250
After-hours sessions from 5pm onwards: $265

All session fees can be paid at the beginning or end of your appointment and include card processing fees. These rates are aligned with recommended professional guidelines and reflect the level of training and expertise of each clinician.

For clients who require greater flexibility, after-hours appointments are available to accommodate work schedules, family commitments, and other responsibilities, while still ensuring access to high-quality, evidence-based care.

If you are seeking Family Reports or Single Expert Reports for matters before the Family Court, these services are billed separately due to the specialised nature of the work. Fees for these assessments vary depending on the scope and requirements of the matter. You are welcome to email reception@therelationspace.com.au to discuss the fee structure and obtain a detailed quote.

REBATES

Many clients are eligible for financial support through Medicare or private health insurance.

Medicare Rebates

If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP or psychiatrist, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates:

  • Clinical Psychologist rebate: $145.25

  • General Psychologist / Clinical Psychology Registrar rebate: $98.95

These rebates can be claimed for up to 10 individual therapy sessions per calendar year.

A Mental Health Care Plan is not required to begin therapy, but it can reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Your GP will typically review your progress after the first six sessions before approving additional sessions.

Please note that Medicare rebates do not apply to Family Court Reports or Single Expert Witness assessments, as these services fall outside the scope of clinical treatment. Rebates also do not apply to cancellations or late fees.

Private Health Insurance

If you hold private health insurance with psychological services included under your extras cover, you may be eligible for a rebate. The amount varies depending on your insurer and level of coverage. Some clients choose to use private health rebates once they have reached their Medicare session limit for the year.

Medicare and private health rebates cannot be claimed for the same session.
