Dr. Heather Gan
FOUNDER; CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Heather Gan is the founder of The Psychology Alley and a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wollongong. Born and raised in Singapore, Heather completed her clinical training in Australia and has since built a practice grounded in cultural understanding, depth-oriented psychological work, and a genuine warmth for the people she works with.
Heather's areas of clinical interest include anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and cultural identity issues. She draws on an integrative therapeutic approach, weaving together Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema-Informed Therapy to develop personalised treatment plans for each client.
Heather is particularly attuned to the experiences of individuals from Asian and cross-cultural backgrounds, and is conversational in Mandarin.

HOÀNG LÊ MINH DŨNG (MD)
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST REGISTRAR
MD is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar and an Australian Research Council M.Phil./Ph.D. Scholar at the University of Sydney. Born in Vietnam and raised across Australia and the United States, MD's path into psychology was shaped by a deep curiosity about how history, migration, and inherited trauma shape the human mind.
Having lived and practised across five countries, MD brings a genuinely global perspective to his clinical work — one rooted in cultural humility, rigorous science, and a commitment to supporting those whose distress has been shaped by broader social structures or the experience of being "othered."
MD works from a bio-psycho-socio-technical model, attending to wellbeing across the dimensions of biology, psychology, environment, and the role of modern technology in mental health. His integrative, evidence-based approach draws on the Unified Protocol, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), among others.
📅 Available: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 📍 In-person (Sydney CBD) & Telehealth
